Alice Lowe is an English actress, writer and director best known for her roles in Horrible Histories and the British Independent Film Award nominated[1] feature film Prevenge.
Early life and Career[]
Lowe was born on 3 April 1977 Coventry, England. She attended Kenilworth School. After graduating from King's College, Cambridge Lowe started acting in theatre shows like Snowbound and Progress in Flying Machines.
In 2007 Lowe wrote a short film called Sticks and Balls that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.[2]
In 2010, Lowe became a secondary actor on the CBBC sketch show Horrible Histories. She appeared in 12 episodes over series 2, 3 and 5. Lowes most known character was HHTV News field reporter Jessica Harvey-Smythe.
In 2016 Lowe made her directorial debut with the comedy slasher film Prevenge.
Personal Life[]
Lowe was pregnant while filming Prevenge and later gave birth to her daughter, Della, with partner Paul Synnott, composer and broadcast technician. Della portrayed Ruth’s newborn in Prevenge when she was just 10 days old.[3]
